The Team
At Thorneycroft Solicitors, we have a team of highly qualified and experienced solicitors, each dealing in their chosen areas of expertise.
The senior members of the team are:
Rachel L Stow
Managing Director
Rachel has been with Thorneycrofts since 1994, having previously trained with a Lincoln based firm of Solicitors.
In addition to her role as a solicitor, Rachel is also our Compliance Officer, as well as being responsible for the management of the firm, including all areas of HR.
When not at work, Rachel enjoys spending time with her two children, as well as training at the gym.
Robert Thorneycroft
Director
Founder of the firm in 1990, and now Senior Partner, Robert specialises in property and personal injury related matters.
Robert qualified at Chester Law College and was admitted as a solicitor in 1982. Robert's five children ensure that he has a busy life away from work, particularly through his involvement in local junior sport, which involves roles at Macclesfield Rugby Club and Prestbury Cricket Club.
He is currently chairman of the Kings School Macclesfield Former Pupils.
Michael J Coughlan
Director
Michael qualified in 1993, and joined Thorneycrofts in 1996, specialising in Personal Injury litigation. He is still a full time fee-earner, in addition to providing a second opinion upon the more complex cases within the firm when required, and helping to formulate litigation policy.
Michael and his wife Louise have two daughters. When he is not spending time with the girls, he likes to play golf and football when possible, as well as the odd game of squash.
Sharon Farrow
Head of Private Client department
Sharon has been with the firm for eight years, having studied at Westminster University where she gained a 2.1 LLB (Hons) Law Degree. Sharon specialises in wills, probate and property transactions.
Most of Sharon's spare time is spent with her two small children, but she enjoys travelling, horse riding and skiiing when she gets the chance.
Kirsten Boardman
Solicitor
Kirsten started in the New Business Department as a claims handler and after qualifying as a solicitor in 2010 now specialises in personal injury, wills & probate and family law. She is a member of the Private Client Section of the Law Society and a member of Solicitors for the Elderly - a national organisation that provides specialist legal advice for older and vulnerable people, their families and carers.
Kirsten has been with Thorneycrofts since June 2006, joining straight from university where she gained a 2.1 LLB (Hons) Law Degree from Manchester and she now mentors GDL and LPC students at her local university.
